Importing and Exporting a Course
Once a course has been developed the framework can be used in other modules by Importing and Exporting the course. This can be done if there are several sections of a course or for the beginning of the next semester. Systems office clears all old BlackBoard accounts midway through the semester.
A. On the left side there is a link for control panel.

B. Only the instructor has access to the control panel

C. On the left there is a box called Course Option and the top left of the box is Export Course

D. This goes to the Export/Archive Manager
E. Click on the export button and choose the material to be exported from the current course and click submit

F. BlackBoard will e-mail when the export has finished
G. Go back to export/archive manager and the file should be listed as export_OCTC_xxxx.zip
H. Now click on the export file and a dialog box will open that asks to save or open file
I. Click save and save the file to the hard drive. To make it easier create a blackboard file on the hard drive and place the file there.
J. To import the file into another shell open up the control panel in the new shell and go to Import Package

K. Use the browse drop-box under #2 to locate the saved exported file on the hard drive.
L. Select the items under #3 that needed to be imported into the new shell.
M. Click submit and okay when BlackBoard indicates that it will send an e-mail when the package has been uploaded.
N. Go back into the course and all of material should be available.
