Engineering Technology

The Engineering Technology program allows students to earn an Associate of Applied Science degree while providing them with a strong background in electronics and electrical theory.  The program builds on this basic knowledge with courses that prepare the students for careers in a variety of high tech fields including electronics, industrial maintenance, electronic communications, computer aided design / drafting.

Graduates of this program will acquire both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience with data acquisition systems, PLC's, computers and computer networks, automated systems and process control, communication systems and computer based drafting and design technology.

There are certificates and diploma options embedded in the degree so that a student will be able to document progress toward the associate degree.  Graduates wishing to continue their education beyond the associate degree, will be able to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Kentucky University's Architectural and Manufacturing Sciences program.  The entire WKU degree can be obtained on the campuses in Owensboro.  All of the associate degree courses will count toward this bachelor degree.
