A). A karyotype
The chromosomes are arranged by pairs in descending order for diagnosis.
They are used to diagnosis conditions and syndromes that are caused by chromosomal addition, deletion or fragmentation.
III). Diseases
A). Cri du Chat Syndrome:
Cause: portion of chromosome 5 is missing.
B). Fragile X Syndrome:
Cause: Break in the X chromosome
C). Down Syndrome:
Cause: An extra chromosome at 21
D). Turner Syndrome:
Cause: X & absence of other sex chromosome
E). Klinefelter Syndrome:
Cause: 2Xs and a Y
F). Triple X Syndrome:
Cause: 3 or more X chromosomes
G). Jacob Syndrome:
Cause: More than 1 Y chromosome
