Global Studies Mission Statement

The mission of the OCTC Global Studies Program is to establish an academic environment encouraging global awareness and active participation in an evolving global society.

In achieving this purpose, the program will focus on the following areas: 

• Promoting and developing a curriculum offering students a variety of courses with a global emphasis
• Providing opportunities that enhance course content, such as presentations, service learning activities, and internet projects utilizing Web 2.0 applications 
• Supporting faculty and students in studying and teaching abroad by
• providing and disseminating information, 
• pursuing student and faculty exchanges, and 
• seeking support by means of scholarships and grants.
