If you love learning and working with people, OCTC’s Education program could be for you. Teaching is a rewarding career, whether you are working with first-graders or high school seniors. Our graduates become teacher’s aides, instructional assistants and substitute teachers. Others continue to build their skills in university teacher education programs, allowing them to become teachers at elementary, middle or high schools. Credits from OCTC transfer seamlessly to all public universities in Kentucky. If you’re looking for a career path that allows you to make a difference, look no further than teaching. The Associate in Applied Science Degree (AAS) offers two options: one for those wishing only a two-year degree and another for those wishing to enter a university teacher education program.
For course sequence, see the program card.
For graduation requirements, see the academic plan.
You can earn an associate of applied science degree in two years if you maintain full-time status.
This information should not be considered a substitute for the KCTCS Catalog. You should always choose classes in cooperation with your faculty advisor to ensure that you meet all degree requirements.
