OCTC CHORUS PRESENTS SPRING CONCERT

The Owensboro Community College Chorus will present a Spring Concert on Monday, April 30th at 7:30 p.m. at First Christian Church, 700 J.R. Miller Boulevard. Directed by Connie Ford, Professor of Music and accompanied by piano instructor Angela Bruce, the choral ensemble, comprised of area high school students, college students and faculty, and community members, will perform a wide variety of works, including settings of hymn tunes from Southern Harmony, accompanied by Wild Mountain Thyme, a local lap and hammer dulcimer duo. Other compositions on the program feature sacred and secular works from the 17th to the 20th century, including such composers as Heinrich Schütz, John Leavitt, David Dickau, and Craig Courtney, and settings of African-American spirituals. The concert is free and open to the public.
